A truly stunning pair of Victorian carved oak library chairs.

Very substantial and heavy quality pair of antique armchairs.  In the Gothic/ Arts and Crafts style typical of the period (c1890).  The chairs have ornate carved backs with intricate turned and carved supports and are upholstered in the brown leather with bronze studs.  The leather upholstered scroll arms supported by nicely turned spindles and matching carved panels.  Standing on carved and turned front legs and saber rear legs terminating on the original castors.

Excellent golden colour and buttery patina which does not show well in my photo's.

The chairs came from the local masonic hall and have been cherished for many years, seeing little use.  Fresh on the market.

Measurements: Width 680mm, Depth 740mm, Height 1120mm.

Condition report:  Exceptional throughout.
